Gravelly Baptist Church began in 1948 as a mission Sunday School sponsored by Lynn Garden Baptist Church. What started as a small outreach to serve families in the Gravelly community continued to grow, and in 1950, Gravelly Baptist Church was officially established. Lynn Garden Baptist Church history
Over the past 76 years, generations of faithful members have gathered to worship, study God’s Word, care for one another, and share the hope of Jesus throughout Kingsport and beyond. While buildings, programs, and ministries have changed through the years, the purpose of Gravelly Baptist Church has remained the same: to glorify God and help people know and follow Jesus.
Today, Gravelly continues that mission through worship, Sunday School, children’s and student ministries, missions, community outreach, and opportunities for people of every generation to grow and serve together. We are grateful for those who laid the foundation, thankful for what God is doing today, and excited about where He is leading us next.
